System Development - Build and Fix!
Build and Fix or Ad-Hoc
development is a very simple System Development Life Cycle
methodology. If you can even call it a methodology.
The Build and Fix system
has no real system. There is no structured methodology for
this process, there is no project specifications built and
there is no set design. There is no real goal of this process
other than to satisfy cutomer needs, however without a set
plan this process is one of the least used and least effective
software development methodologies.
The basic principle behind
the Build and Fix process is simply that developers write
a system and program, then it is brought to the customers
(or users), once the system gets feedback from the users then
the developing continues. This cycle repeats until the customer
is satisifed.

This is not the best methodology to work
with on most projects. This can be a very risky methodology
to work with and if this process goes poorly it can cost a
customer a lot of unneccessary time, money and resources.
