Maintenance Policy!

Melissa Nava Consulting can handle your website maintenance needs while you focus on your business. Here is a bit of information about the maintenance policy if you choose to have Melissa Nava maintain your website.

Things that Melissa Nava makes sure is done when handling your website:

  • Regular and current backups are created and stored locally so that no matter what happens, there is a backup of your website which is conveniently located.
  • Provides you, as a customer with current backups of your website. Not only is your project delivered online, but you will also get a copy of your current website on disk. If you choose to have monthly changes done on your website, you will receive a disk with a backup of your website each month. If your maintenance plan calls for weekly updates, then you will receive a monthly backup via disk.
  • Website maintenance is considered changing and updating your website to keep the content current. Maintenance plans are not designed nor will be used for website redesigns, page additions or complete revamps to your website. Different plans can be drawn up which are not maintenance plans in the instance that your website plans require that additional pages are needed on a regular basis.
  • Website updates under maintenance plans are generally completed within 24 hours of delivery. Exceptions are normally weekends and holidays. Additional exceptions are noted in advance and alternative arrangements can be made so that your business maintenance needs are met.
  • There is a 30 minute minimum for maintenance billing. You do not need a contract on file with Melissa Nava to request maintenance. Billing for maintenance is either done at the beginning of the following month or quarterly, at Melissa Nava's discretion.
  • Melissa Nava does not charge for maintenance if no maintenance has been completed during the month. If you have a discounted price for a maintenance plan, according to your contract and you do not exercise your right to request maintenance, then there will be no charge for that month in billing. You are not allowed to roll-over maintenance discounts to other months.
  • Every effort is made in order to make accurate changes to your website. It is the clients responsibility to make sure that the changes are accurate and meets their expectations. If a change is made that is in error, on our part, then the change will be corrected for no charge. If a change is made that is in error that is the clients fault, the correction will be billed at the regular maintenance hourly rate.
  • Melissa Nava reserves the right to make the distinction between 'maintenance updates' and 'new design' requests. The differing services will be charged at the appropriate rates.
  • All client updates and requests for maintenance should be sent in one of the following formats:
    • Email: Requests can either be summarized in the email or placed in .txt or .doc files. Photos and images should be in either .jpg, .gif or .png format. Other formats for images should be discussed and approved before submitting for maintenance requests.
    • Mail: Requests can be sent via mail. Photos that are sent that need to be scanned and optimized will be charged accordingly. Updates sent via the mail will be charged slightly more than updates received via email due to the extra time that it takes to retype text, error check, scan images...etc.
  • Depending on what your requirements are for your website, you may have Melissa Nava place third party components on your website. Search engine boxes, advertisements, site counters, RSS feeds, and many more items are examples of third party components. If an installed third party component requests that code is changed because of changes to their systems on your website, you will be charged for the cost of changing this code.
  • Melissa Nava claims no responsibility for third party site content or actions that they take. If your website is linked to a website which changes their content, Melissa Nava is not responsible for their actions. I do not endorse nor support any website that this website or other websites, including your own, link to. It if your responsibility to make sure that the content of third party websites that you link to have appropriate content for your business.
